William Ray
Will is P-E Handley-Walker’s CEO and Managing Director. Will has over 40 years experience in various management roles including Chief Chemist, QHSE Manager and Production Manager. Responsibilities have included regulatory compliance, internal and external lead auditor, RTO Manager and trainer/assessor. His chemicals expertise covers a wide range of specialty chemicals including surfactants, dispersants, defoamers, silicones, adhesives, cleaning agents, water treatment, and surface coatings technologies, Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), Dangerous Goods, Hazardous Chemicals and Scheduled Poisons classification. Will has authored hundreds of Safety Data Sheets covering a varied range of industries and chemistries, in addition to developing and delivering workshops of GHS classification, SDS and label authoring for Australia and New Zealand. Will has presented at numerous conferences including HAZMAT 2012 (NFPA) on new SDS Code, Australasian Laboratory Management Association (ALMA) (2010, 2014, 2015, 2016) on SDS/GHS classification, and conducted GHS classification workshops at Safety in Action (Darwin 2014) for Safe Work Australia, and Science Industry Association (GHS classification workshops around Australia in 2015 and 2016), and delivered in-house GHS workshops for a range of chemical manufactures.
Will is a Lead Auditor (under contract) for Third Party Certification Bodies. He is based in Victoria and travels as required to conduct audits, training and consulting. He has also completed an Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and Sea Survival course.

Maurizio (Mauro) De Thomasis
Mauro adds value to organisations by helping them develop, maintain and improve their Environmental, Sustainability and Health & Safety platforms. He provides practical and cost-effective advice and is able to empathise and partner with clients through his combination of over 35 years of industry, operational, regulatory and consulting experience.
- Advisory/support roles have included:
High level technical/advisory support to the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria across environmental risk assessment, industrial waste management, illegal waste disposal and air quality management; - Senior advisory support to the Executive Director – Climate Change Division in the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP); and
- Management and technical support to the Business Productivity team in Sustainability Victoria.
